Daily10: June 14

| More

10 – A.J. Burnett has bounced back nicely after allowing 12 earned runs in one start back in early May. He’s won five straight starts and hasn’t allowed more than three runs in any of these starts. He’s available in more than 40 percent of leagues, so take a look.

9 – It looks like Clay Buchholz is starting to figure it out this season. He just dominated the Miami Marlins, giving up one run over seven innings with nine strikeouts. That’s four straight starts of allowing no more than two earned runs and going at least seven innings.

8 – Props to Alex Rodriguez for tying the MLB record by hitting his 23rd career grand slam. His game-tying blast in the eighth inning Tuesday night propelled him to the top with Lou Gehrig. He’s been a steady fantasy option thus far, but I’m sure owners are looking for some more power out of him. June and July is when he starts to come alive so be ready.

7 – Mike Trout just continues to do work. The rookie for the Los Angeles Angels is now the ninth-ranked outfielder in all of fantasy! He has six stolen bases in his last five games and four multi-hit games in that same span. Those who picked him up quick are really reaping the benefits.

6 – Matt Kemp took batting practice on Tuesday, but we still don’t know when he’ll be back in the lineup. Hopefully the power stays there, but you have to think that the stolen bases will drop significantly. It’s too bad because he was on pace to have some kind of season.

5 – Speaking of hot rookies, Bryce Harper had two straight three-hit games (before Wednesday’s 1-for-5 performance) and has gotten his average to above .300. The Rookie of the Year voting probably doesn’t even need to take place this season as Harper will win it in the National League, while Trout takes it down in the American League.

4 – One of the hotter pitchers in the majors right now has to be Madison Bumgarner. He won his third straight decision Tuesday night pitching 7.2 innings, allowing one run and striking out 12. He’s had double-digit strikeouts in three of his last five starts and has eight wins on the season.

3 – I don’t know how Tyler Clippard is still 10 percent available in fantasy leagues. Since becoming the closer for the Washington Nationals, he hasn’t allowed a run. He is 9-for-9 in save opportunities and is piling up the strikeouts. Get him off the wire if he’s somehow there.

2 – Adam Jones was in a little bit of a funk, but it looks like he’s starting to get hot again. The third-ranked fantasy outfielder has homered in two of his last three games, including a 4-for-5 effort on Tuesday. He now has 18 home runs, a .310 average and nine steals.

1 – Is this start by R.A. Dickey for real? He’s 7-0 in his last nine starts, has 46 strikeouts in his last 36.2 innings pitched and has allowed a total of one earned run in his last 30.2 innings pitched. It’s kind of starting to become the norm for Dickey to dominant a game. I’m still not 100 percent convinced, but he’s starting to make me a believer.
