Daily 10 - August 14

No. 10- That’s two straight complete games for ColeHamels.  Someone should have told him hewas supposed to get complacent after signing his big contract.

No. 9-If you are making a late season push to steal somecheap saves you would be well served to add the Padres Dale Thayer.  Thayer has the closer job with Huston Streeton the disabled list.  Thayer secured thewin for the Padres on Monday.

No. 8-Eric Chavez doesn’t fit on your roster in everyformat, but if you have a spot on a daily lineup league you should latch on tohim during his hot streak.  Chavez sitsmany nights dependent on the matchup, but lately when he is in the lineup heperforms.  Last night he continued thehot streak with two hits, including another home run.

No. 7-Jeff Samardzija equaled his career high strikeouttotal with another 11 K performance against the Astros on Monday night.

No. 6-Adam Dunn pounded two more home runs Monday drivinghis total to thirty three on the season. With Paul Konerko on the disabled list with a concussion, Dunn willlikely see more time at first base.  Keepan eye on his fitness at this point in the season with the additionalresponsibilities.

No. 5-Did you pay attention and get Nick Swisher in yourlineup this week?  If you did you werethe beneficiary of his two hit, five runs batted in game highlighted by a grandslam.

No. 4-Ryan Dempster was roughed up for the second time inthree outings since joining the Rangers. Dempster is having a difficult timesettling in to the American League and by the time he gets it sorted out, thedifficult outings may have ruined any value he had.

No. 3-Shane Victorino ran his hitting streak to sevengames on Monday with a two hit performance including a home run for the Dodgers.  Victorino is fitting in well on the Westcoast and is poised to contribute for your team down the stretch.

No. 2-Garrett Jones has quietly been a solid producer formany fantasy teams this season.  Jonesadded four more hits to his total on Monday driving in three of the Pirates fourruns in a loss against the Dodgers.

No. 1-Jason Kipnis missed his fifth straight game Mondaywith a sore neck.  Kipnis has cooled offin the second half and perhaps the extended rest will allow the Indians’ secondbaseman to focus and heat up again.
