No. 10-Did you think Melky Cabrera’s career season wastoo good to be true…well it was.  Mostfantasy owners expected a second half regression, but were surprised to findout that performance enhancing drugs were responsible for the monsterseason.  I guess the good news is thateven with the season ending suspension Cabrera already exceeded fantasy expectationsfor his owners. 

No. 9-Starlin Castro may spend some time in Dale Sveum’sdoghouse, but there is no denying his abilities.  Castro has seen a dip in his batting average,but he went out and had a great day at the plate on Wednesday.  Castro lead the Cubs to a 7-2 win over theAstros with three hits including a two run home run. 

No. 8-After missing some time earlier in the week with aninjured ankle Jayson Werth has returned to the National’s lineup andcontributed.  He followed up a 1-for-4performance on Tuesday with a strong outing on Wednesday collecting two hitsdriving in three runs and even managed to swipe a base for good measure. 

No. 7-Max Scherzer punched out eight or more batters forthe sixth consecutive start on Wednesday. Scherzer remains inconsistent and his high earned run average and WHIPwill drag your team down but he has the potential to rack up strikeouts eachtime he takes the mound. 

No. 6-After racing out to an impressive 5-1 start, Astros’starter Bud Norris has dropped his last nine decisions.  Norris is often a streaming candidate, but withthe struggles he is displaying he has no place in your lineup the rest of theseason. 

No. 5-On the opposite end of the spectrum the Mariners’Felix Hernandez railed off his seventh straight win with a spectacular twelvestrikeout perfect game.  The perfect gamewas the third in the baseball this season. It is a shame that Hernandez doesn’t play for a contender where histalent could be better utilized and appreciated. 

No. 4-Ben Revere has shown no signs of slowing down evenafter having his long hitting streak snapped a couple of weeks ago.  Revere may finally be developing in to aviable fantasy option and consistent hitter. Keep him on your radar going in to next season. 

No. 3-After getting off to a horrendous start RickieWeeks has quietly put together a respectable second half.  Weeks continues to leave the Mendoza line inhis rear view mirror with outings like Wednesday where he had three more hits,driving in a run and scoring once. 

No. 2-R.A. Dickey took his fourth loss of the season lastnight yielding three home runs to the Reds. Dickey continues to defy logic, collecting nine more strikeouts despitebeing a knuckleballer, but he has struggled in the second half, only going 3-3since the All Star break. 

No. 1-A.J. Pierzynski ran his hitting streak to sixteengames highlighted a career season for the 35-year-old White Sox catcher.  Pierzynski extended his hitting streak withtwo more hits on Wednesday and on the season ranks in the top five for catchersin most formats.
