#10 - Miguel Cabrera left Thursday's game early due to a bothersome ankle, that's two studs in consecutive days (Albert Pujols being the other). Monitor, accordingly.
#9 - Well, at least Jake Westbrook scooped up the garbage win. Not a good performance vs. the hapless Astros, send him back to waivers and be happy he at least got you a W.
#8 - As it turns out someone forgot to tell the Mets and Rockies bats there was a day game Thursday. Two AAA caliber pitchers on the bump and all we're given is a 1-0 game? Poor form.
#7 - Hey, that offense was up the coast in Boston! Too bad Albert missed all the fun, everyone else did something in the stat cloumn. Although owners of CJ Wilson and Alfredo Aceves probably weren't too happy with what they saw.
#6 - Only Dusty Baker would cut Todd Frazier's playing time after a blistering month (plus). The over-the-hill (37 years old), fading (sub .700 OPS the last two years), and oft injured (135 games in two seasons) veteran gets the nod. Only, Dusty.
#5 - Jose Bautista clubbed a couple of home runs in his rehab game Thursday, expect him back in action this weekend. Get him in your lineup!
#4 - I don't trust Edwin Jackson, but the Phillies offense has been poor all year and he's up against Kyle Kendrick. You have to start him in this one.
#3 - Jon Lester is coming off two strong performances and draws the Royals, who struggle vs. left handed pitching. Since I'm so confident I'm sure he'll lay an egg, but if you can't start him in this one who can you start him against?
#2 - I don't feel good about Ben Sheets' dead arm either, but he draws the Giants at night in the bay. He also has a trek to Petco next week. Tough not starting him now, but he absolutely must deliver in these two games or you send him back to waivers.
#1 - Justin Verlander almost took the loss due to one bad pitch, deserved the win but at least he didn't get saddled with the L. 9 IP and 12 K, filthy.
