Daily 10 - September 13

#10 - Curtis Granderson is one of a handful of power hitters nearing or already rounded 40 home runs, but that .235 batting average sure sticks out like a sore thumb.  If he costs the same next season as he did this season pass on him.

#9 - Speaking of players to pass on, hello career year Ian Desmond!  Looks like I sold him a year too early as he went from on the brink of losing his job to top 5 shortstop.  Nothing looks out of the norm from his career averages except that gaudy home run total.  Those who invested this year, well done, let someone else have him next year though.

#8 - Clayton Richard and Petco, a match made in heaven.  After yesterday he has given me 6 W's in 64 IP's of 3.50 ERA 1.06 WHIP ball.  Gamer's, remember this when drafting next year, cheap pitching can always be found!

#7 - I seem to write about Rickie Weeks every week now, home runs in back to back games giving him 6 for the month already.  His first half may be one to write off as an outlier next year.

#6 - Derek Jeter has been battling an ankle injury for a while and it finally forced him from a game last night.  Kudos to him for saying he will play today, but he really needs some time to rest.  Like Teixeiria when he kept trying to come back too soon from his calf issue his ankle isn't going to get fixed as long as he keeps going out there.

#5 - Prince Fielder and Miguel Cabrera have carried the Tigers offense this season (okay, Austin Jackson too) and they had to again in a must-win game on Chicago's south side.  The team looks like it's going through the motions, but if they're to make a late push for the division it's on their hefty shoulders.

#4 - Ryan Zimmerman contributed to a lot of team being out of it by the All Star break, but he's doing his best to make a late season push for you to draft him early again.  He has 22 home runs now (four in the last week) and 19 of them have been in the last 2 months.

#3 - Jimmy Rollins is doing his part to get the Phillies back into this pennant race, Wednesday was his second multi hit game in a row and he went yard in both.

#2 - Max Scherzer has just been filthy in the 2nd half, he has 52 K's to 7 BB's over the last month and his last outing that didn't net a quality start was August 5th.

#1 - Can't ignore A.J. Griffin any longer, shutting out the power hitting Angels in 8 IP's of work makes him difficult to bench vs. anybody.  He's given up just 2 ER's in his 3 outings since coming off the DL and has a disgusting 18:1 K:BB.
