Daily 10 - September 19

No. 10-Billy Butler now has a ten game hitting streak after his outing on Tuesday against the White Sox. Butler has set a career high in home runs and is creeping up on 100 runs batted in on the season. Butler will have additional value next season with an improved power stroke and first base eligibility.

No. 9-Max Scherzer was shut down after two innings with shoulder fatigue. The Tigers really need Scherzer in the rotation as they battle towards a playoff berth. Keep an eye on his situation and use him with caution over the last couple of weeks.

No. 8-Starling Marte has been a nice addition for many owners since his call up. He missed a little time with a stint on the disabled list, but he has again hit the ball well since returning. The season has been a nice glimpse at what owners can expect next season when Marte figures to find an everyday spot in the Pirates' lineup.

No. 7-Many fantasy owners wrote Alex Rodriguez off for the season with his lastest trip to the disabled list, but the Yankee veteran has been a solid contributor since returning. He will likely start to see some additional time off, but he still has value in daily lineup formats.

No. 6-Owners of Clayton Kershaw will need to monitor his situation closely. Kershaw has a minor injury that the team reports he will be able to pitch through as long as he can deal with the discomfort. Able to pitch and pitch effectively are two completely different things, so keep an eye on how Kershaw reacts to the situation.

No. 5-Andy Pettitte was slated to take the mound in his return from the disabled list on Tuesday, but the weather had different thoughts. Pettitte will attempt to make his comeback in the first game of a doubleheader on Wednesday. Add him to your list of streaming candidates if he can regain his form.

No. 4-Miguel Cabrera was locked in on Tuesday night smacking two home runs while driving in six runs. The Tigers offense is potent and will be key in the closing weeks if they hope to overtake the White Sox for the division title.

No. 3-Josh Reddick was able to collect his third straight multi-hit game on Tuesday. Reddick has been a streaky player all season and this may be the beginning of another hot streak. Make sure you utilize him as long as he remains hot.

No. 2-Ryan Braun is making a late season push to join the 40-40 club. He has already hit forty home runs and pushed his stolen base total to twenty seven on Tuesday with three stolen bases. He remains a prime candidate for an early draft pick next season.

No. 1-Felix Hernandez will take the mound Wednesday looking to rebound after two straight outings that saw him lifted without pitching five innings. The Mariners have given their ace an extra day of rest to try and allow him to exhibit his typical dominance.
