We have now reached the final full week of the major league baseball season. If you are in a rotisserie league, you may have a shot to move up or down a spot, but you are likely entrenched to some degree. However, most head-to-head leagues are in championship week. Congratulations if you are one of the top teams fighting for your league’s trophy. Now is the time to focus for one more week as you decide which players to start and potentially stream for an edge.
In the Fantasy Sports Trade Association’s Experts League, the Sharks team sits in seventh place. We will likely finish anywhere between sixth to eighth place this season as we seemed to be locked in most categories. We have some room to move in the categories of strikeouts, wins, walks-plus-hits-per-inning pitched (WHIP), and batting average. Take a dive with me as we review several players that can make a difference for you this final week.
Andy Pettitte - The New York Yankees’ veteran is now 2-0 since returning from injury. Though his season has been brief, he has held his earned run average under 3.00 with almost a strikeout per inning. In addition, he has a strong chance of earning you a win with the offense of the Yankees supporting him. If you did not start him Monday, then grab him for his last start of the season against Toronto.
Lance Lynn - The St. Louis right-hander went from relief pitcher to sensational starter, then fell back to relief role. It is a long season, and Lynn has returned to the starting rotation again. With three wins and quality starts in a row, you may want to snag him for his last start. But, beware, the Washington Natonals can hit!
Juan Pierre - If you are in need of stolen bases and runs, don’t forget about Pierre. He does not play every day but still managed 14 hits, nine runs, and a steal over the last two weeks. He has 35 steals on the season and can be a key contributor for you in the final week.
