Through the Wire: Week 13

| More

SP Clayton Richard, San Diego Padres

Richard is riding quite a hot streak as of late. Over his last five starts he has gone 4-1 with every one being a quality start. In fact, his lone loss came when he allowed just two hits and one run over innings so needless to say he’s been pitching very well. Richard doesn’t give you a ton of strikeouts, but he doesn’t walk many batters and gives you longevity, going at least six innings in nine of his last 10 starts. He’s only owned in about 20% of leagues.

OF Justin Ruggiano, Miami Marlins

Though he’s only had 66 at-bats so far this season Ruggiano has made the most of it. He’s hitting just under .400 and has already blasted five home runs. He got his chance because of injuries so it’s not yet known where he’ll fit in down the road, but get this guy in your lineup for the time being because he is absolutely raking right now.

SP Michael Fiers, Milwaukee Brewers

Fiers has been incredible over his last three starts. He’s just 1-1, but has dominated hitters. He’s given up a total of two earned runs over 20.2 innings and has an overwhelming 26 strikeouts. Fiers is just 3-3 on the year, but if he can start getting some run support then look out. He’s currently owned in just under 40% of fantasy leagues so I would target him now because of his strikeout rate.

OF Tyler Colvin, Colorado Rockies

There is absolutely no reason that Colvin should be available in over 80% of leagues right now. The guy has done it all this year and is the number one outfielder you should go grab right now. He’s hitting .301 and has 11 home runs, including four in his last eight games. These sorts of numbers have put him in the starting lineup almost every day and I don’t see him leaving any time soon. Go scoop him up immediately if you’re in need of power and average.
